These majestic purple beans have deep roots in Oaxaca, traditionally served with smoky mole, and as a filling in masa street snacks. Complex and meaty, with a luxurious creamy yet firm texture, these beans make any meal special. Pair with similarly bold and assertive flavors dried chiles, earthy greens, and tangy cheese. Sweet   •  Buttery  •  Hearty

These delightful yellow beans are beloved in Coastal Mexico for refried beans, and perfect for tacu tacu, a favorite in Peru to use up leftover beans and rice. We love their smooth, buttery texture and rich golden broth, making a brothy bowl of these beans a meal in and of itself. They have a mildly sweet flavor and are one of our top picks for recipes calling for white beans, where their creaminess can shine.

These velvety smooth beans with their eye-catching dark stripes come from Northern Mexico - where flour tortillas, grilled meats, and fresh cheeses reign. We love their robust meaty flavor, full-bodied broth, and versatility. These plump beans are one of our top choices for recipes calling for pinto, but they also pair well with Mediterranean flavors (think: feta and greens).

Chocolate-y    Rich    Plump

These stunning beans started as a spontaneous cross (by bees!) between 2 parent beans: Rio Zape and Anasazi. After noting how special they were, our farm partner, Rio del Rey, saved and regrew them so that they could live on as a brand-new variety.  We love their rich chocolate-y flavor, creamy plumpness, and the variation among each bean a mix between spotted and striped. It’s a bean you won’t find anywhere else, and they're best by the spoonful, straight out of the pot.

Earthy  •  Velvety  •  Rustic

These flavorful white beans are worthy of celebratory occasions in Mexico, commonly savored with pork and pickled jalapeños. We’re big fans there is something special about the large size, complex earthy flavor, and velvety smooth texture. These beans work equally well with Mediterranean flavors, just like their cousins the Corona and Gigante. Whatever the cuisine, they add body and creaminess to dishes where size matters salads, saucy dishes, and gratins.

Nutty  •  Rich  •  Firm

These tiny speckled beans (yes, the speckles are a blue hue!) hail from the high desert and they love the bold, zesty flavors of the Southwest. We’re obsessed with their rich nutty flavor and firm bite, which bring soups, stews, and salads to new heights. What’s more, tepary beans are among the most drought- and heat-tolerant crops, and their genetics are treasured by farmers and breeders around the world.

Rich    Silky  •  Smooth

These small plum-colored beans are a favorite for making rajma, a classic North Indian comfort meal. We love their exceptionally silky texture and rich broth. These beans shine in robustly spiced curries, but are equally delicious as simple brothy beans. We recommend naan or other crusty bread for dunking.
